Pakistan is an acronym. We need T-shirts saying that. Lots of 'em.

sepoy | December 22, 2009

you think? I would rather "Pakistan is an antonym".

Qalandar | December 22, 2009

bhai, was going by what was on offer... my imagination is cramped that way. :-)

"Pakistan's Jersey Shore name is Juice Box."

anand | December 22, 2009

Try India is... on google shows the sharp contrast how two countries who started together have grown over the years...

I love Christmas.

Skewed News. Tends to happen when two different super-powers decide to shack up next door to you in the space of 30 Years.

Qazi | December 24, 2009

@anand, I tried googling "India is..." and I agree with you, how perceptions can be so farther from the truth. QR

Skewed News. Tends to happen when two different super-powers decide to shack up next door to you in the space of 30 Years. China to the east, India to the South and the United States colonial project to the west. This will not end well

"China to the east, India to the South and the United States colonial project to the west. This will not end well" India is a bit player in this. Wait and see how soon AF-PAK muddle will metamorph into AF-Indo-Pak

shows the sharp contrast how two countries who started together have grown over the years… An old theme to a degree, I still remember watching Brian Lapping's '"End of Empire" BBC series as a kid in the 80s, the section on South Asia began by saying something like 'in the forty years since decolonisation the successor states to British India have taken different paths and by most yardsticks of measurement India has been a success while Pakistan has been a failure'! Still if you come from the bottom 20%-30% of society there isn't that much to separate the two.

Well "India is" is also rather funny. Though not as bad as Pakistan's. But certainly not a great deal to be proud of. Arun

China to the east, India to the South and the United States colonial project to the west. This will not end well Yes Man, bro, I think you mean China to the north, India to the East. The US colonial project stays West. As for Iran, it stays where it is. BTW I was talking about the Soviet Union and the US, both planet shaking powers, shacking up in Afghanistan right next door. Glad to see we agree it might not end in the nicest way possible.

And good luck to India in keeping it's own stuff in order through 2010.
