Since I am on a roll :-P, another book recommendation, is this one. Strange Times, My Dear. The Pen Anthology of Contemporary Iranian Literature

by Nahid Mozaffari (Editor), Ahmad Karimi Hakkak (Editor). Ironical that it was almost banned in the US!

Also, Lipstick Jihad A Memoir of Growing Up Iranian in America And American in Iran (Paperback)

by Azadeh Moaveni. Btw, Moaveni has written a book with Shirin Abadi recently. You must’ve read Funny in Farsi, a hilarious book.

Btw, there are many googoosh videos on You tube. By an amazing coincidence, I was listening/watching her stuff recently. I heard about her during the 2000 visit to the US.

Companion book while you listen to her music; ‘Let me tell you where I’ve been’. Simply the most amazing collection of poems/short stories, I’ve read in 10 years or more.
