Hussain – I’m sure you’re already aware, but I’ll go ahead anyway and recommend the ‘Coke Studio’ concerts which are on youtube. It ranges from Arif Lohar, Tina Sani to authentic folk artists – all done in a modern setting. The effect is, to use a cliche, quite awesome-sauce. Start with Arif Lohar and Meesha Shafi singing a Sultan Bahu composition.
(and this is from a person who grew up across the border, down south!)
