1 Nancy June 5, 2009 at 7:03 am: A very good example of this type of thing is Sigmund Romberg’s The Desert Song. More romantic than this. If I remember correctly, the ‘sheikh’ who woos the white maiden is actually a white man in disguise. So that’s all right.
